3CX Cloud Hosting, managed for Kenyan businesses

A complete 3CX phone system, hosted on a dedicated server in a Nairobi data centre. We keep it updated, backed up and secure. With a support plan, which is optional, our engineers also make the changes you ask for. You get the phone system; we keep the server.

What managed means here

A cloud PBX is a phone system that runs as software on a server in a data centre instead of a box in your office. Managed means the hosting also covers keeping it updated, backed up and secure.

Hosted in Nairobi

Your system runs on a Cloud Server in a Nairobi data centre, with power and connectivity a small office cannot match, and close to the networks your callers use.

Updated and secured

3CX updates and security fixes applied by us, in a window you agree, with the built-in firewall and anti-fraud rules on and watched from the start.

Backed up on a schedule

The system's configuration and call history backed up on a schedule, so a failed server is rebuilt from the last backup rather than from nothing.

Changes, on a support plan

A new starter's extension, a new menu option, a change to who answers after five: on a support plan, you ask and our engineers make it. Whether changes are included depends on the plan.

One place to ask

On a support plan, when something is not right you tell us once, with response times in writing. Without one, on-demand support covers a single issue.

Why it suits Kenyan small and growing businesses

Calls carry on through a power cut

The system lives in the data centre, not on the office wall. When the power or the office line goes, your staff keep answering on the app, on mobile data, and the caller never knows.

Made for a team that is on its phones

The office number rings on each person's smartphone, wherever they are, and the client sees the company's number when they call back, never a private one.

No hardware to buy up front

No PABX box and no server: a monthly or yearly plan in shillings, paid by M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Pesalink, Visa or Mastercard, with the cost known before you start.

One system for every branch

Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu on one system, extension to extension, with no lines rented between them.

Your calls kept in Kenya

The system, its call logs and any recordings sit on a server in Nairobi, which is a shorter conversation with whoever looks after data protection in your business.

How a call reaches you

From the caller to whoever is free
  1. Your client calls

The Kenyan number on your website, your invoices and your signboard.

    over the SIP trunk
  2. Your system, in Nairobi

Hosted, updated, backed up and watched by us. The menu answers and routes the call.

    over the internet
  3. Whoever is free

On a desk phone, the app on their mobile or their laptop, in the office or out of it.

Your numbers and SIP trunk come from the phone line provider you choose.

What it takes to start

What we do

  • Build, license and secure the system in Nairobi
  • Connect your SIP trunk, from the provider you choose, and test it
  • Set up extensions, the menu, ring groups and office hours with you
  • Install the apps with your team, and configure any desk phones
  • Schedule the backups, and keep the system updated from then on

What you provide

  • An internet connection with headroom for your busiest hour
  • A network where voice traffic is not fighting everything else for room
  • The list of who needs an extension, and what the menu should say
  • Someone on your side who can decide how calls should flow

The work is priced as a setup package, and help afterwards, if you want it, as a support plan.

What it costs

Three parts: a hosting plan, monthly or yearly; a one-off setup; and the 3CX licence, which renews each year. Everything is quoted in KES, in one document. Your calls are billed by your phone line provider, not by us. Prices exclude VAT at 16%.

Questions about 3CX Cloud Hosting

What is the difference between hosted and managed?

Hosted means the system runs on somebody else's server. Managed means the hosting also covers keeping it running: with us, the updates, the backups and the security are part of 3CX Cloud Hosting, so you have a phone system and no server to think about. Changes you ask for, and help when something is not right, come with a support plan, which is optional.

What happens to our calls if the office internet goes down?

The system itself keeps running in the data centre. Desk phones in the office stop until the line is back, but staff with the 3CX app on their mobile carry on taking calls over mobile data, and callers never hear a dead line.

Can we keep the number our clients already have?

One way or another, yes. Whether a number can move to the new system depends on the operator that holds it, and we check that with you first. Where it cannot move, it is forwarded to the new system while your clients catch up.

Do we own anything, or are we locked in?

Your numbers stay with your own phone line provider, and the 3CX licence is yours too. If you later want a dedicated system on your own server instead, it can move there.

How is it paid for?

A hosting plan paid monthly or yearly, a one-off setup, and the 3CX licence, which renews each year, all quoted in shillings, in one document. Your calls are billed by your phone line provider, not by us.

How many people can it take?

Your system is sized by how many calls happen at once rather than how many staff you have, so it grows from a handful of people to a contact centre without changing provider.
